Using an engaging research style of learning, elementary children work individually or in small groups on a wide variety of projects meant to spark the imagination, engage the intellect and nurture natural characteristics and tendencies. Cosmic Education

The learning appetite of children at this age is driven by the intense desire to understand the universe and their place in it. The guides direct the elementary work toward all aspects of life in an encompassing study of cosmic education. This cosmic education includes, but is not limited to, geography, biology, history, language, mathematics, geometry, science, music, art, morals and practical life. Educational exploration is encouraged through trips outside the classroom to community resources. These trips are often initiated and organized by the children. Examples of such trips include the library, planetarium, botanical garden, science center, supermarket, bank, factory, or hospital. This inclusive approach through cosmic education fosters a feeling of connectedness with humanity and nature, while encouraging the children’s natural desire to make contributions to the world.

“To me, personally, what makes this school special, is what my children have been able to do, and learn and experience… and that makes this school very dear to my heart. Looking at other children their age, I see such a huge difference in terms of emotional growth, in terms of academics to a part, but to me that’s not necessarily the bottom line. It’s more of the social accountability, the way they carry themselves in public, the way they know to address people. I attribute that to this school and this environment. All those soft skills that you can’t really put onto a test form, I think is what they learn here at this school”
