Financial Aid


At Montessori Academy of NJ, we recognize that every family’s situation is unique. Our financial aid program is designed to help families with demonstrated financial need for students in our Primary to Elementary grades. Please read through these instructions carefully before beginning your application. Early submission is encouraged, as funds are limited.

Understanding the Process

Who We Use & How It Works:
We work with Blackbaud Financial Aid Management to process applications.  Blackbaud manages the application logistics and makes a final recommendation to MANJ.  While all final aid decisions—including any award amounts—are made by MANJ, you should expect us to follow the recommendation provided by BlackBaud.

Application Fee:
A non-refundable fee of $35.00 is required with each application.


What You’ll Need

Before you start, gather the following information and documents:

  • Household Details: Contact information, list of dependents, and household expenses.
  • Income Documentation: Recent tax documents (e.g. IRS Form 1040, W2, pay stubs).
  • Business Documentation (if applicable): Financial records, including schedules and relevant forms.
  • Additional Information: Any details that describe your family’s unique financial circumstances.



How to Apply

1. Create Your Account

  • New Applicants: Register by setting up or linking your Blackbaud ID on the Financial Aid Portal.
  • Returning Applicants: Log in using your existing credentials. (If you applied previously, your account details and Application ID roll over automatically for the current school year—please review and update your household information if necessary.)

2. Complete the Application

Your online application is divided into six clear sections:

  • Household Information: Enter your contact details and list all dependents living with you. (For college-aged dependents attending another private school, please indicate that status.)
  • School Selection: Locate Montessori Academy of NJ by entering our five-digit school code (provided in your admission materials) or by searching for our school name.
  • Income & Expenses: Provide details of all household income sources and list your expenses accurately.
  • Assets & Debts: Record your family’s assets and liabilities.
  • Special Circumstances: Indicate any unique factors that may affect your financial situation. (If none apply, simply proceed.)
  • Final Submission: Review your information carefully, agree to the terms, and submit your application. Note that once the application is submitted and paid for, it cannot be edited online.

3. Upload Required Documents

Immediately after submission, you’ll be prompted to upload supporting documentation. Each document must be uploaded individually under the correct category. The application will not move to the verification stage until all required documents are received.


After You Apply

  • Review Process: Once your application and documents are submitted, a financial aid recommendation is sent to Montessori Academy of NJ.
  • Final Decision: The school will make all final determinations regarding award amounts. If you have questions or have not received a notification, please contact our financial administrator directly.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Who should complete the application?
    The person with whom the child resides—whether that is a parent, grandparent, guardian, or other responsible adult—should complete the form. There is also an option to include non-custodial contributions.
  • Why must I include all household income?
    The aid calculation is based on your total household income. This includes income from all adults in the home, even if one is not legally responsible for the child.
  • I’m missing a tax document. What do I do?
    Submit the most recent documentation you have. If specific figures are unavailable, please provide an estimated amount.
  • Can I change my application after submission?
    Once submitted and the fee paid, applications cannot be edited online. For corrections, please send a written statement (including your Application ID) to
    support@studentfinancialaid.blackbaud.school.
  • Is there an extra fee for business owners?
    Yes. Business owners must pay an additional fee due to the extra documentation and review process required.
