At Montessori Academy of New Jersey, our Primary program (ages 2.9-6 years) harnesses Dr. Montessori's "absorbent mind" concept, allowing children to effortlessly absorb knowledge from their surroundings. This foundational stage is critical for developing independence, cognitive skills, and social abilities.
Program Highlights
- 8am - 12pm: For children aged 3-4 years, focusing on foundational skills.
- 8am - 3pm: For children aged 5 years and older, with extended learning. (Bring your own lunch)
- Extended Care: 7:30am - 5:30pm, accommodating working families and including a hot lunch for children under 5.

“Learning happens through the child’s own hands-on interaction with the didactic material. Very seldom does this activity result in a paper or written component. As a parent of a primary age child, one should not expect paper to come as evidence of the child’s activity. In addition, there are times when the paper component will appear to have errors, which have not been corrected. This is typical, as often with very young children it is the process that is more important than correctness, even in math.”
